AC/DC: Classic 1977 Performance To Air On Australia's JJJ Radio

August 26, 2005

According to a posting on AC-DC.net, Australian radio station JJJ will air this weekend an AC/DC concert recorded at Sydney's Haymarket on January 30, 1977. Part of Impossible Music Festival, with live music all weekend, the AC/DC show airs on Saturday (August 27) at 8:00 p.m. More information is available at the JJJweb site.

Undercover News recently reported that AC/DC are among the artists who are said to be planning performances in Australia next March to mark the 2006 Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne.

AC/DC have been working on a new studio album, and according to Billboard, their agent told a gathering of concert-industry representatives that a North American tour is on the horizon, though he didn't say whether it would be this year or next. There's no word on whether the new album will be released in 2005 or 2006.

As previously reported, AC/DC's "Back in Black" album was recently certified for U.S. shipments of 21 million copies, tying it for fifth place with BILLY JOEL's "Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & II" on the Recording Industry Assn. of America's all-time best-sellers list.
